It was a loud and rebellious love of punk that shaped Richie Collins' anarchic underground music style. Richie started spinning records at his local rugby club at the age of 14. DJing for drinks, it was here that he began honing his craft, learning to read the room and work the crowd.

It wasn't long before he started warming up at Ziggy's in Newport, later playing at various free parties. His sets centred around acid house culture, extending to sound systems that became the bedrock of the '90s rave scene.

With DJ residencies at iconic Welsh venues such as The Basement and Grooves, his thumping sets combined Acid House, Trance and Techno, regularly packing out dance floors into the early hours.

Eventually, Richie took a break from DJing, building his vinyl collection in a more private way. This siesta from sound was not to last forever. Following a chance encounter with the founder of We Are The Secret Society at a free party in 2024, the renowned promoter convinced Richie back into the fold, offering him a vinyl-only slot at Paradise Gardens.

Today, Richie Collins' naughty sets skilfully blend Acid, Deep House and Disco, with the instinct of someone who's spent a lifetime playing for the people.
